設立宗旨 Establishment Purpose

為配合政府推行國小英語教學政策，回應社會培育國小優良英語教師之需求，於2007年成立「英語教學系」；並因應全球英語文教師專業發展及英語教學趨勢，英語教學系碩士班於2015年成立，自此成為國內培育英語文教育事業相關人才之專職系所。本系師生致力於英語教學與研究，並持續提供專業諮詢與服務。 To align with the government's policy of introducing English language teaching in elementary schools and to meet the societal demand for cultivating high-quality English teachers for elementary schools, the Department of English Instruction was established in 2007. In response to the global trends in professional development for English language teachers and English language teaching, the Master's Program in Department of English Instruction was launched in 2015. Since then, it has become a specialized department dedicated to cultivating professionals in the field of English education. The faculty and students of this department are committed to English language teaching and research, continuously providing professional consultation and services.

碩士班-英語文專業發展與研究 Professional Development and Research in English Language and Literature

本系特色 Department Features

◎師資 Faculty
本系專業課程師資皆具博士學位，專業領域包含英語教學、英美文學、西洋兒童文學、語言學與語言評量等。每年招生一班共35名學生，採小班制分組教學，兼顧每位學生之個別差異與學習成效。 All faculty members in our department hold doctoral degrees, specializing in various fields, including English instruction, English and American literature, Western children's literature, linguistics, and language assessment. Each year, we admit a small cohort of 35 students, ensuring a personalized learning experience through small class sizes and group-based instruction. This approach allows us to address individual student needs and promote effective learning outcomes.
◎課程 Curriculum
本系大學部課程旨在深化學生英語文溝通能力、了解英語語言與文學文化的內涵、厚植英語教學專業知識、並整合國小教育學程及實習訓練，以培訓優秀之小學英語教學師資。本系碩士班課程除了理論與研究方法，亦強調教學實作與課堂研究，本校亦與鄰近小學合作提供學生教育實習與課堂觀察等機會。 The undergraduate curriculum aims to enhance students' English communication skills, deepen their understanding of the language and cultural aspects of English literature, strengthen their professional knowledge in English teaching, and integrate elementary education programs with practical training. The department’s master's program focuses not only on theory and research methods but also on teaching practice and classroom research. Additionally, the university collaborates with nearby elementary schools to offer students opportunities for educational internships and classroom observations.

教學設備 Teaching Facilities

本系教學設備完善，計有兩間電腦語言多媒體教室，English Reading Café與兒童英語角落學習區，除了作為教學研究與演練的空間，並藏有兒童英語教學相關的英文繪本小說等書籍。另有附設電子白板的研究室、小教室及會議室各一間。 Our department is equipped with excellent teaching facilities, including two computer-based multimedia language classrooms, an English Reading Café, and a Children's English Corner Learning Area. These spaces are not only used for teaching, research, and practice but also house a collection of English picture books, novels, and other materials related to children's English education. Additionally, we have research rooms, small classrooms, and meeting rooms, each equipped with interactive whiteboards.

交流見習 Exchange and Internship Opportunities

本系為拓展學生國際視野，增進對國際教學事務之瞭解及參與，本系教師積極申請各項計畫及活動(如：教育部師資培育計畫中的海外見習計畫、教育部學海築夢計畫之海外國小實習等)，並鼓勵學生參與各國中、小英語學習服務營，增進學生課程設計與教學實務經驗。 In order to broaden students' international perspectives and enhance their understanding and participation in international teaching affairs, our faculty actively apply for various programs and activities. Also, we encourage students to participate in English learning camps for junior high school and elementary school students in various country, enhancing their experience in curriculum design and teaching practice.

學生活動 Student Events

◎本系學生所組成之系學會協助辦理本系各項活動，也為學生們帶來豐富的大學生活。每學期舉辦期初、期末大會、耶誕舞會、送舊、英語週等，促進各年級學生交流。 The department's student association assists in organizing various departmental events and enriches student life. Each semester, the association hosts events such as the Semester Opening and Closing Meeting, Christmas Ball, Farewell Party, and English Week, fostering interaction among students across different grades.
◎本系每年舉辦畢業公演及「大四英語教學專題」畢業製作發表、系友回娘家，展現學生學習成果，並增進師生交流。 Each year, the department organizes a graduation performance and the "Senior English Teaching Project" showcase, along with an alumni homecoming event, highlighting students' learning achievements and strengthening interactions between faculty and students.

In addition to pursuing careers in English teaching, students have diverse employment opportunities and development paths. Our advantages are transforming the skills emphasized in our English teaching curriculum—such as lesson preparation, classroom communication, public speaking, body language, and multimedia application—into an abundant employability.

本系每年均有多人考上正式國小英語科教師，成績傲人。未來將持續本系的優良傳統，提供優質的師資培育，造就更多英語教學的領袖人才，進入職場服務，發揮影響力來提升國內英語教師的品質。 Each year, many of our students successfully pass the exam to become official elementary school English teachers, achieving impressive results. ◎進修 Further Studies
每年都有畢業生選擇進入研究所再進修碩、博士學位，校友遍及國內外研究所，包括英語教學、語言學、英美文學、翻譯、文化研究等英文相關系所。 There are graduates who choose to pursue further studies in master's and doctoral programs every year. Alumnus are found in research institutes both domestically and internationally, including English instruction, linguistics, English and American literature, translation, cultural studies, and other English-related fields.

經過本系紮實的英語文相關課程訓練後，畢業生發展活躍而多元，包括文教機構、口筆翻譯、編輯、公務機構、工商業界、新聞傳播界、國際貿易、旅遊航空界等。 After receiving solid training in English-related courses from our department, graduates have diverse and active career developments, including cultural and educational institutions, translation (both written and oral), editing, government agencies, business and industry, journalism and media, international trade, and the tourism and aviation sectors.
